The SDSMF accepts applications from young athletes (ages 10 to 18) that have a sports related injury which requires further medical evaluation and the youth does not have medical insurance or limited financial means to receive/pay for the costly medical attention.
Since 2002, the SDSMF has seen and treated over a thousand young athletes from our injury clinics to pre-participation sports exams. Amongst those youth seen, over 50 have required an MRI and/or surgery. Below is a list of SDSMF recipients.
